When winter nights drop below freezing, families shouldn’t choose between heat and food.

Keeping Each Other Warm

Our Mission: Keeping Neighbors Warm

Located at Tan Oak Park in Leggett, California, our Community Firewood Bank ensures that no neighbor goes cold this winter. We provide free firewood to elderly residents, individuals with disabilities, and low-income families who depend on wood heat to stay warm.

Your donation provides more than just wood; it provides safety, comfort, and peace of mind. Every dollar goes directly to purchasing fuel, maintaining equipment, and delivering wood to those who need it most. This year we are self funded while we wait and try for the next round of funding. Your help is needed and appreciated.

$50

Helps purchase fuel for the delivery truck and maintain our chainsaws, as well as other maintenance related projects.

$100

Would cover about 1/3 of a cord, or more safety gear, hydrants, and other dire needs.

$350

Gathers a full cord of wood and delivers it to a local family warm to stay warm for a month+.

$500

Would allow us to replace broken equipment and hire staff to maintain the grant requirements.

Give the Gift of Your Time

This project runs on community power! We always need hands to help split, stack, load, and deliver wood. It’s a great way to meet your neighbors, get a good workout, and make a direct, visible impact.

Volunteer Tasks Include:

  • Splitting and stacking wood at Tan Oak Park
  • Loading wood into trucks and trailers
  • Delivering firewood to recipients’ homes
  • Site maintenance and cleanup

“The firewood delivery was a lifesaver. I don’t know what we would have done without it. Thank you for keeping us warm.”
